Date Your Spouse

How long has it been since you’ve been on a date? You’re married you say? Even better! Successful marriage requires constant and continuous effort and care. What better way to do that than to date your spouse?

Dating says, “You are still special to me.” I admit it takes more planning than it did when single, especially if you have children, but when you make dating your spouse a priority in your time and finances you’ll find it improves commitment, intimacy and cohesion in the relationship.

So, where do you start? Think back to when you and your spouse were dating. What did you enjoy doing together? Think of a new adventure to try together; it doesn’t have to be expensive or extravagant. The main goal is to minimize distractions, have light and fun conversations and focus on each other. You could go on a hike, find a free outdoor concert to attend, have a picnic, see a movie, get ice cream or frozen yogurt together. Get your calendar out now and start planning and whatever you do, have fun!
